Namdroling Monastery

The Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery in Bylakuppe is the world’s largest teaching centre of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Home to more than five thousand monks and nuns, the campus includes a junior high school, a religious college, and its own hospital.

What to expect: serene temple architecture, vibrant murals, soft chanting in the prayer halls, and a calm, contemplative atmosphere that lets you slow down and simply take it all in.

Chiklihole Reservoir

Chiklihole Dam is a quiet reservoir built across the Chiklihole River, part of the wider Cauvery basin in Karnataka. Set near Nanjarayapattana, between Madikeri and Kushalnagar, this hidden spot sits just 5 km from the Dubare forest, making it an easy and scenic detour for travellers.

The region also features attractions like Nisargadhama and Veerabhoomi.
